WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?

Lip blush is a form of semi-permanent makeup that lightly implants pigment into the lips to enhance their natural colour, correct asymmetry, add definition, and create the illusion of fuller lips. The result is a soft, flushed tint that looks natural and effortless.

Our Pigments & Safety Standards

The pigments used in our brow tattooing procedures are high-quality, vegan, and cruelty-free. They are free from heavy metals and nickel, ensuring a safe and skin-friendly experience. Pigment selection is carefully tailored based on your skin tone, hair colour, and personal preferences.

We use sterile, single-use tools and follow strict hygiene and safety protocols to provide a clean and professional service.

UNDERSTANDING ‘TOUCH-UPS

Touch-up sessions are a vital part of the Lip Blush Tattoo process and are not considered optional - they are essential for achieving your final, long-lasting results.

Why Are Touch-Ups Needed?

Cosmetic tattooing is a two-step process. After your initial appointment, your skin will naturally go through a healing phase. During this time, your body may push out some pigment, and areas may fade or heal unevenly. A touch-up session allows your artist to:

  • Fill in any areas where pigment may have faded or didn’t retain fully

  • Make minor adjustments to shape, symmetry, or colour

  • Reinforce the pigment to ensure long-term retention

When Should I Book My Touch-Up?

Touch-ups are recommended 6–10 weeks after your initial appointment. This gives your skin enough time to fully heal before more pigment is added. Appointments booked before the 6-10 week mark may interfere with the healing process.

What If I Skip the Touch-Up?

While your Lip Blush may still look good after the first session, skipping the touch-up can lead to:

  • Uneven or patchy lips

  • Faster fading

  • Shorter overall pigment longevity

Skipping the touch-up also means your results won’t be considered “complete,” and any future adjustments may require more extensive work and costs.

Does the Touch-Up Hurt?

Most clients find the touch-up appointment quicker and more comfortable than the initial session. Since less pigment needs to be deposited and the area is already mapped, it’s usually a smoother experience.

Is Another Touch-Up Needed Later?

Most clients won’t need another touch-up until their 12–24 month colour refresh. However, everyone's skin is different—some clients may require a third session (called a “perfection session”) depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Appointment Time Estimate
As this is a new service, we ask for your understanding that your appointment may take anywhere between 3 to 5 hours. This allows the artist to take their time, ensuring the best possible outcome without rushing.

Your patience = flawless lips!

Consultation & Mapping

Your lips are carefully mapped and designed to enhance your natural shape, symmetry, and features. During your lip blush appointment, we begin with a thorough consultation to discuss your desired outcome — from colour and style to subtle shape adjustments that suit your facial structure.

This is a collaborative process where you're fully involved in approving the final shape before we begin tattooing. Minor asymmetries are balanced, and colour is chosen to complement your skin tone and personal preference, whether you're after a soft blush or a more defined finish.

Your consultation and lip mapping are included and completed on the same day as your tattoo appointment.
We do not offer separate-day pre-draw or mapping sessions for lip blush.

Pigment Selection

Your lip blush colour will be carefully selected to complement your natural lip tone, skin tone, and personal preferences. We consider factors such as undertones, how the pigment will fade and heal over time, and your desired level of vibrancy — whether that’s a soft, sheer tint or a more defined pop of colour.

To help us create your perfect custom shade, we highly recommend bringing as many of your favourite lip liners and lipsticks as possible to your appointment. This gives us a clear idea of what colours you love to wear, so we can blend a pigment that closely matches your ideal everyday look.

Anesthetics (Numbing Gel)

Topical anesthetic is optional and can be purchased separately to help minimise discomfort during your brow tattoo session. This specially compounded gel is designed for use on broken skin and can significantly reduce sensitivity throughout the procedure.

  • Cost: Approximately $25–$40 (price may vary slightly depending on the pharmacy).

  • Where to Get It: The gel must be ordered through a compounding pharmacy before your appointment.

  • Instructions Provided: Full ordering and collection instructions will be sent once your booking has been confirmed and approved.

  • Use is Optional, but strongly recommended.

Before Your Appointment:

To achieve the best possible lip blush results, please follow the guidelines below:

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Unfortunately, we cannot perform lip tattooing if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy in the near future.

Cold Sores – Please Read Carefully
If you have ever had a cold sore in your life — even just once — there is a 99% chance a breakout will occur after your lip blush procedure. The trauma from the tattooing almost always triggers an outbreak, and it can be more severe than you're used to, even if you haven’t had one in years.

To prevent this, it is essential that you begin taking an antiviral medication such as Lysine (natural) or Aciclovir/Valaciclovir (prescribed) 3–5 days before and after your appointment. Without antivirals, the healing process may be compromised, and your final results could be affected.

Even if you don’t currently have a cold sore, please do not skip this step — it's one of the most important parts of lip blush prep.

Avoid Blood Thinners
Refrain from consuming alcohol, caffeine, fish oil, or taking blood-thinning medications (such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen) for 48 hours before your appointment to minimise bleeding and pigment loss.

Keep Lips Hydrated
Dry, cracked lips can impact how well the pigment holds. In the week leading up to your appointment, apply a nourishing lip balm regularly and gently exfoliate your lips with a sugar scrub or soft toothbrush to keep them smooth and hydrated.

No Filler Within 4 Weeks
If you've recently had lip filler, please allow at least 4 full weeks before your lip blush appointment. This gives the lips time to settle and reduces sensitivity or complications during tattooing.

Avoid Certain Skincare & Treatments
Do not use active skincare ingredients (like Retinoids, AHAs, BHAs) near the lip area for at least 2 weeks prior. Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments in the treatment area during this time.
